Welcome to Backstage
Dear Music Lovers,
Welcome to Backstage Boutique Townhouse, a concept that was conceived as a creative hub for people who are artistic and passionate about music, travel, history, culture and life itself. The concept was created with the intention in mind that people who write music could stay at Backstage and get more inspired to write great material. If for example you lost your muse, Backstage would help you to get it back. Backstage is a concept created by the property’s owner, Kristina Casolani, a Maltese singer and songwriter.

About the Townhouse
Backstage is an 18th century baroque townhouse converted in 2016 and opening its doors in May 2017. Previously it was the home to a Maltese-Italian family who were also artists. The Reception area was their Art Gallery and Art Shop. When we first saw the house in 2015 we immediately fell in love with the structure and refused to abuse of it in any way. Hence why we did not touch the building structurally. We wanted it to remain true to its original creation, that of 200 years ago. The house always had a very positive vibe and good energy which you may still feel at present. Underlying the house is a World War II Shelter which eventually we wish to turn into a recording studio. Our dream is to be able to give the opportunity to any musicians visiting us to create music at Backstage in their respective rooms and then record their piece of art in the recording studio which would be located in the old war shelter.
The decor at Backstage is music themed throughout. Backstage is centrally located, 200 metres to the Sliema Ferries with all its shops, bars, pubs and al fresco restaurants. It’s five minutes away from Valletta, Malta’s beautiful capital city via ferry or ten minutes away by bus. All rooms at Backstage enjoy free WIFI, multi-lingual satellite TV including the latest Blockbuster movies, air conditioning, a lovely balcony or terrace and a private shower room. All showers are private but not all of them are ensuite since this is a typical 200 year old Maltese townhouse and we left the design in its original concept in order for our guests to experience and embrace the true Maltese culture.
